United Games International existed since 1989 as an informal body for co-operation of 7 national organizations in Slovenia, Czech Republic, Austria, Serbia, Germany, Hungary and India. In the beginning, the main shift was co-ordinating children games festivals, in several years the attention moved to organizing youth exchanges, based on education and non-formal learning. The most succesful projects were the Post-pessimists movement and the Global Village project (www.globalvillageproject.net) and since 2003 United Games International takes part in organizing World and European Youth Congresses. In accordance with a development of our organization, young activists within United Games International decided to establish an official NGO (launched in February 2009) and defined vision and mission for future development of UGI.
