Co-Management - A Practical Guide
United Games International joined Peace Child International, our long term partner organisation, in an international project to write a book on best practise on youth participation on a local level. This international book project was supported by the European Commission in Brussels and was scheduled to run for about two years.
Partners in the Book Project were:
- Peace Child International, Buntingford - United Kingdom
- United Games International, Graz - Austria
- United Games Austria, Mürzzuschlag - Austria
- United Games & Young Voices, Izola - Slovenia
- United Games Hungary, Pápa - Hungary
- Yaka International, Rouen - France
Book Writing Process
During the discussions in the various editorial meetings and during our research in the field of youth participation we realised from our experience we had in both organisations that we achieved the best results in our international projects and programmes, when young and adult people came together and co - operated on an equal level with each other.
United Games as well as Peace Child are running their organisation in a co - management approach where adult and young people are involved in all decision making processes on all levels that concern the management of our organisations.
Very soon we came to decision to give this co-management approach a main focus in the book and try to explain why co -management is from our point view the best way (practise) to develop youth participation on a local level.
