http://www.silentheroes.at/Film concept ready - film trailer is being produced
In the last eight months the students have developed an
organisation and finance concept for the film project. - A main
development step is now the production of the necessary film trailer
with which they want to introduce and promote the project. - The
students sent this trailer and the project concept to
Cannes/France were in mid April this year all main TV stations from
Europe met for an international film documentary festival. There
the students wanted to try to find TV stations in Europe that support their project.
With the discussions about the climate change that is going on in
Europe as well as in other parts of the world at the moment -
sustainable development and the Millennium Development Goals are
getting a more and more stronger focus in society and by press and
media. - So the chance to get support for the Global Village Project
and the film "Silent Heroes" has never been so good.
Have a look on the trailer on the Global Village Project Website: www.globalvillageproject.net.
Basic idea behind the film
a) The student film teams
Four smaller student film teams will travel for three weeks in September this year to:
Bangalore/India
Malawai/Africa
Ecuador & Peru/South America
One team will also stay here in Europe and film the work process in at
Global Village Project - Mission Control Centre at the University of
Applied Sciences in Graz and will also travel to one or two UG
countries that participate in the Global Village Project.
The student teams consists of one camera man(woman), one sound engineer and one journalist.
The teams will arrive 10 days before the GVP - Action week in the
various countries and will stay during Action Week and up to one week
when the GVP 2007 is over.
b) The story board - "Silent Heroes"
The students will film the preparation process of the various youth
- led development action project towards the action week - the process
during the GVP - Action Week at the MCC as well as in the three
countries mentioned above. - This action project development process
will be shown by telling the story of one young person that is strongly
committed to the project.
The film wants to higlight young people who under very difficult
circumstances - with sometimes very little or even no resources at all
try to do something concrete to improve their local enviroment with a
small scale project.
The film is called "Silent Heroes" because those committed young people
are hardly ever seen or heardf or acknowledged by the public not to say
the international community or press and media.
The film will be shown on various film festivals in Europe and overseas
The film should be ready sometime in spring 2008. Already now film
festivals in Europe and even obverseas offered the students to show
"Silent Heroes". It will of course also be shown during the World Youth
Congress in Quebec/Canada in August 2008.
Possibility for UG countries in Europe to participate in the film project
Those UG countries that have decided to join the GVP 2007 from 23rd to
30th September also have the possibility to participate in the film
project.
What interested countries have to do is to inform UG International about their interest so that we can discuss it with the student film teams.
