Choose your workshop...

Dear delgates - Naturtalent is just about to start!! Have a look on the final workshop descriptions - and decide which one you want to apply for... There are limited places on each workshop and each delegation should be represented in each workshop - so make a second choise too!

1.    Nature and Arts  (Alina, Erdbeer)

The workshop Nature & Arts deals with various aspects of creativity. Participants will get to know different kinds of the Fine Arts and the Performing Arts embedded in the topic of nature. The main goal of this course is to gain a new access to our environment through creativity and therefore learn to respect our natural world. Participants will get the chance to free their mind, discover themselves and the arts, learn about nature and how it influences the way we think and gather social skills (such as teamwork). Of course fun will be an important factor as well.

The participants who are interested in that workshop should bring clothes for painting.

2.    Modern Communication/Advertisement  (Koudi)

„Virtual Naturtalent” „Vi(r)t(u)al Talent” „He@r W@tch Le@rn”

In this workshops the participants will promote our cause via Web 2.0. By using online communities such as Facebook, youtube, TalkingITglobal, Flicks, Netlog and My Space they are going to fight for a healthy environment and for sustainability.
They would reach 1000 people with just several mouse clicks consequently they will learn about different experiences with the internet, in positive and negative way.
For example they will put videos on our own “Naturtalent” youtube-channel that they will create and initiate and manage a photo contest on Flickr and search for people fighting for the same cause on TakingITglobal.
The main goal of this workshop will be to reach as many people as possible by not forcing them but rather getting them interested in our goal with videos, pictures, blogs and many other creative cool tools. They also will find a healthy balance between working on the computer and be in the nature so before they are sitting to long in front of the computer they will go in the nature and for example work there or just to play a game.

3.    Survive and Value Nature/Forest pedagogy (Martin)

This workshop gives the opportunity to learn to respect and to value our nature through really getting in touch with it. Furthermore you will also get to know yourself better. The participants will also learn ways how to pass on these values and how to raise your peer's attention for our environment.
The participants will sleep one night in the wild nature. First they will prepare for their night in the nature. For example they play some culture games, build a camp and make a fire for cooking. The group will also get in touch with forest pedagogy and  survival strategies.

The participants who are interested in this workshop need sleeping bags, warm clothes and good shoes for sleeping outside, knife, camping mattress.

4.    Nature and Music (Fotzi, Seppi)

The aim of the workshop is that the participants hear the nature. To hear the rustle of the flow or the chirp of the birds. The participants will „hear“ with how few things they actually can make music.
The group will collect natural materials in the wood and recycling materials, afterwards they build music instruments out of them. Together they will make music with the self-tinkert instruments, rehearse several rythm and write a song.

Certainly the participants should take their own music instruments along.

5.    Young people‘s Book of Sustainability& Climate Protection

    (Georgy, Gugi)

In this workshop they will write a book about Sustainability. The first chapter of the book are practical tips how to protect the environment on an individual level. For example: to switch of the light, to do recycling. (Preparations have been made during the APV)
The second part of the book are two pages about one city from each country. On this two pages things are written about what in the city is good for the environment and what is bad and how to improve. There will also be two pages with a concept for the perfect sustainable city.

6.    P2P-Sustainability-WS (Romed)

The participants will learn several methodologies so that they also can make a "Sustainable Lifestyle Workshop" themselves. During the week the young people will get a hands-on experience on how to prepare and facilitate peer groups, what are important do's and don'ts and how to improve a session through games, seminar methods and learning techniques. They will learn how to promote the topic by using the "Young People's Book on Sustainability & Climate Protection" as a reference.

7.    Documentation Workshop

They should make a short documentation film which should be funny for the participants and which could also be used for official documentation.
The group also should make a newspaper (one sheet of paper every day). On that there will be news from the festival, of the participants....
They also make a short blog on the Website every day and they present pics and stories at the final presentation.

8.    Sustainability Workshop (Tanya)

At Monday there will be a “Sustainability Lifestyle Workshop” for all participants. --> They will be split in some groups.

9.    Sustainable Cooking (Anna)

From Saturday Morning onwards Anna will show how to cook in typical Austrian way and how to do shopping in a sustainable way. They probably will go to various farms to buy food and to see how it was made. They will prepare food for the final presentation. (Be aware that this is an exceptional workshop: The participants can sign in even though they are doing a different workshop during the week. They might not be able to join in at the preparation for the final presentation of their own workshop --> WS leaders have to be asked!)
This workshop is limited to four people!!
