Warriors of Change - Mission Be the Change

Mission Be the Change

Hello UG pps!

Hope this message finds you well!

Ok, I don’t even know where to start. Some of you already figured out through the “almighty powerful Facebook”, but some of you still have no clue…So to make it short, I and Joao (former Peace Child) founded our own NGO, which is called Warriors of Change. We are at the beginning of a looong road, but we have all the motivation and excitement to do crazy and challenging projects around the world. Since I sort of grew up with UG and still keep in my mind and value the great time I had while being active member of UG, I would love UG people to know about us, and of course, be part of the mission we have ahead in one or another way…

Our first project is called “Mission Be the Change”. Please, read below or (highly recommended!) see this file for more details. And also, please please help us promoting this opportunity by forwarding this information to all your friends, contacts and networks that can benefit from it. I do not have emails of all current UG people, so if you could spread the word within your national UG orgs, that be great!

A little bit about the mission…

Warriors of Change in partnership with Peace Child Brazil are organizing a unique programme this summer aimed at young people and professionals to explore at first hand samples of best practices of a community work and youth engagement in the city of Sao Paulo and Santos. You will have the unique opportunity to discover a new exciting culture while gaining “hands on experience” in various NGOs and projects in Brazil! Also, you will have the chance of getting to know interesting and fun people from all over the world, as well as creating a powerful network for global Change!

What to expect?

-      Constructing community houses for young people;
-       Discovering the challenges of a community kitchen;
-       Visiting Eco-Park; paper-recycling cooperative developed by young people as well as community markets and cultural fairs;
-       Discussing, exchanging and sharing information and experiences;
-       Beach activities in Santos;
-       Typical food;
-       Capoeira Workshop;
-       and much more…

Who can take part?

Pretty much ANYONE! This opportunity is Open for anyone that believes in making a difference!!!

For example:

  • Students that want to learn more about the NGO world, youth activism or discover volunteer opportunities;
  • Philanthropists looking for meaningful projects to support;
  • Activists and Volunteers that want to witness different approaches to youth work or searching next opportunities to get involved;
  • Journalists that want to meet new groups or see new projects and find new stories;
  • Business leaders who are curious about the non-profit world and want to see success stories of corporate philanthropy;
  • Social entrepreneurs that want to share experiences and see new ways of overcoming social challenges;
  • Members of social movements, non-profit professionals or governmental representatives that want to network and expand their knowledge of youth engagement, youth polices and organizations
  • Common Citizens that are interested in youth, NGOs, and social movements.
