UG India - Description and Introduction
United Games India forms together with Peace Child India the organization ARIVU.
One of the most important projects of Arivu is the Schools Programme. Guests for the United Games India youth exchange usually contribute something to that programme for the duration of their stay in India.
The Schools Programme
An approach to holistic education is of crucial importance in India. The present approach of teaching ‘by rote’ where children identify words in a textbook but cannot identify the same words elsewhere is not working.
Arivu/Peace Child India and United Games India have embarked on an ambitious programme to provide interactive reading sessions, first aid training, art, craft, and theatre programmes in fifty government schools for economically and socially marginalized children.
10th Anniversary of UG India
This year in October/November United Games India celebrates its 10th anniversary!
Arthaa - Etically made and traded
We have set up a unit to train these women and young people in tailoring and screen printing. All the products they produce are sold under the name ‘Arthaa’, and proceeds go towards ensuring that these people can continue to earn a fair and sustainable income.
